Power for Every Situation

Spirit filled believers have residing within them the power and ability to overcome every situation.  Ephesians 3:16 "that He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit..."

The Greek word translated into strengthened actually means empowered and the word translated into might means explosive power dynamic in its working; ability to perform anything.

Therefore, Ephesians 3:16 could read, "that He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be empowered with the ability to perform anything through His Spirit (in you)".

Jesus said in Acts 1:8 "You shall receive power after that the holy Ghost is come upon you."  The same Greek word for power being used means this verse says, "You shall receive the abilty to perform anything when the Holy Ghost has come upon you".

Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."  The Greek word translated strong is a compound word that means to have in you, explosive power and ability to perform anything.  So, Ephesians 6:10 says, "Finally brothers, have in you the explosive power and unlimited ability of God.

The very nature of the Greek word translated strong indicates that there must be a receptacle, a receiver, into which this explosive power and unlimited ability is to be deposited.  That receptacle is the Spirit filled believer.  We are divinely designed receptacles, depositories for God's dynamic power.

When Paul said "be strong in the Lord", he was telling us to receive a supernatural strengthening, an internal deposit of God's dynamic power.  God is the power source and the believers are the receptacles into which he deposits his power.

Once we receive this power, we have God's ability residing within us by the Holy Ghost to overcome any and every situation.  Jesus said in Mark 9:23 "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."  So then, what limits people in their ability to overcome situations?  Is God limited in his ability.  NO!  He is limited by his Word only.  Ephesians 3:20 "He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us."  What limits some people is their lack of belief - which in turn affects their ability to access the power that haas been deposited in them.

Having the power and ability and using it are two different things.  In the very same way that an outlet on the wall has power in it, but is useless unless you plug into it.  And the plug you use to put God's power to work is FAITH.  You first have to have faith, you have to believe that God has deposited the power in you.  And believe that, unlike the electric company, there is never a power outage with God.  John 14:16 "He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever."  This word forever means, perpetually; eternally; unceasingly; and continually.

This power is accessed by faith, believing that first is there and then believing that it is unlimited in its ability to triumph in every situation.  The more you act by faith and access His power within you - the more natural it becomes for you to use it over and over in every situation that arises.

Use your faith to access the unlimited ability of God that is in you.  It is power enough to overcome EVERY situation.
